This post will now start to shift its attention to the design aspects of the website and the accompanying app. To gain deeper insights into user experiences and design trends, an analysis of competitor websites was conducted, and mood boards were developed to establish a general style and possible colour pallets etc.

Overview:
This mood board brings together images from music events, festival line-ups, and fonts that align with the vision for the new Clout Festival branding. It features an alternative aesthetic, blending bright, colourful visuals with darker, desaturated styles. These contrasting themes reflect the diverse range of artist showcased at CLOUT Festival.
Imagery:
The visuals of the music artists featured in the mood board are cantered around pinks, black, and white colour scheme. This approach should be carried over into the branding for CLOUT Festival. During my research on current music festivals in the UK, I noticed that many line-up posters and festival websites frequently use illustrations. This design trend should be integrated into the new branding for Clout Festival that I aim to achieve.
Typography:
While gathering images for the mood board, it was observed that the typography used in music festivals showcased a wide range of styles. The overall atmosphere of each festival greatly impacted the typography choices. Nevertheless, all selected fonts were bold and eye-catching, regardless of the genre, and this approach will be reflected in the branding for my CLOUT Festival as it sems as the most important aspect when it come to the visual aspect.
The mood board I created played a significant role in selecting the colour palette. Most of the images I gathered for the mood board predominantly featured shades of different pinks and blues Consequently, I chose these two colours for the survey as they emerged as a successful already winning choice based on observations from the competition.

The colour pink is frequently associated with warmth, capturing the spirit of summer. However, my main emphasis has been on the colour purple. I have invested significant effort in determining the most appropriate shade of purple as it is traditionally linked to royalty and luxury. In the past, purple dye was scarce and expensive rendering it a symbol of power and wealth. This association resonates with the themes found in trap music where wealth and status play a crucial role in the narrative creating a strong connection with CLOUT Festival.

The colour scheme of a web and app product plays a crucial role in shaping user interactions and can leave a lasting impact on the user’s subconscious influenced by the psychological effects of colour perception. A survey I conducted earlier indicated that pinks are the colours most commonly linked to summer. This finding has influenced the colour planning phase of the project, suggesting that many individuals associate summer with pink. Given that the CLOUT festival takes place during summer this association could significantly enhance users perceptions of the website resulting in more footfall on both the app and website.
