Post 4

This post will build on post 3 by further exploring design elements like typography and logos, while also examining their impact on User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI).

Typography

Adelia – This font stands out because it blends boldness and playfulness with a sleek design. Inspired by traditional sign painting and brush lettering, many artists choose this font for logos, packaging, headlines, posters, t-shirts, and more. Its clean and simple appearance, combined with a strong expression, makes it a great fit for CLOUT Festival. The artists at CLOUT showcase their unique styles, whether through their music or lifestyle, and I think this font captures that essence perfectly.

Million Design Regular – This font features distinctive shapes and a bold character setting it apart from standard serif or sans-serif fonts. Similar to the previous font, its unique forms reflect the diverse lifestyles of the artists at the festival, making it a one-of-a-kind event that is followed on by a one of a kind font ensuring unique design and at the end making UI more interesting.

Akira Expanded – Akira Expanded is a bold modern sans-serif display font that leaves a strong impression. It’s perfect for headings, subheadings and other display uses such as website titles or posters, where it can really stand out.

Logo

From a questionnaire I was able to determine which of the six logos was the most significant after that I went on to create a Branding Standards of the exact logo showcased below:

In this edit I aimed to introduce a preliminary logo concept along with the specific colour palette used for the logo I created for this project. The colours are consistent with those presented in the previous post, as I believe they enhance the overall concept effectively, which is discussed in more detail in post 3.

I have once again included an edit that highlights the colour palette in greater detail making it larger and more visible for the audience.

This post aims to highlight all the typefaces utilized in the development of this branding standard.

  • Arial Black belongs to the highly adaptable typeface family suitable for various applications including text in reports, presentations, and magazines.
  • Myriad Pro features clean, open shapes, precise letter fitting making this cohesive family of roman and italic styles an excellent option for text typography that ensures readability.
  • Adelia is distinctive for its combination of boldness and playfulness within a refined design. Drawing inspiration from traditional sign painting and brush lettering, this font is a popular choice among artists for logos

In the previous post, I discussed the effective association of pinks and purples highlighting their connection to CLOUT FESTIVAL and the synonyms of these colours. For the logo I aimed to incorporate these same colour tones to create an aesthetically pleasing design for the user. I divided the logo into two sections to involve both boldness and style, reflecting the essence of rappers who are known for being bold, stylish, and unique. Additionally, I chose a black background to provide a strong contrast with the colours enhancing viewer engagement with the design.

To finales the branding standard for this whole project I aim to carry out more user research to reach the best possible UI and UX.

I also went on to create an additional Line Up poster focusing on Million Design Regular font to show how it works in a actual design I went into Adobe Illustrator and significantly played with possible spacing sizes and significance of the font to represent it to the best as I can.
