Exercise 2

Upon conceptualising the name Revia, I proceeded to explore its connotations related to revival. The initial associations included energy and the notion of returning to life after a period of decline. In design this concept can be illustrated through the use of contrast such as transitioning from muted colors to vibrant hues evolving from thin or fragmented typography to bold and legible forms and transforming static elements into dynamic ones through motion or flow. Organic shapes natural imagery symbolising growth or illumination and layouts that progress from disorder to clarity all reinforce the themes of restoration and vitality. However, one idea that particularly resonated with me was the concept of growth seeking to nurturing a tree and witnessing its gradual emergence into life over time. This aspect became a focal point in my logo design. Furthermore, Revia embodies both revival and renewal which evokes notions of fresh beginnings continuity and subtle transformation rather than abrupt change. In design this can be articulated through clean layouts balanced compositions and gentle evolution manifested in soft color palettes delicate gradients refined typography and recurring or curricular forms. Natural motifs light textures and smooth transitions convey a sense of ongoing growth and sustainability highlighting improvement and freshness while ensuring a sense of stability and tranquility. This led me to choose soft tones particularly light greens to uphold the overall sustainable aesthetic.

First Logo Idea

In my opinion, this logo is too heavy for the eye as it contains an excessive amount of dark and heavy tones. I initially intended to use lighter tones but I ended up opting for a darker shade that truly stood out. Nevertheless, I chose to retain this design for future ideas and to further experiment with the layout and visual cues aiming to mitigate the dark tones and shift the focus to another main subject.

Second Logo Idea

This concept while I perceive it as somewhat less constraining visually due to the introduction of a new lighter focal point at the bottom still leads me to conclude that the tone and colors are excessively dark resulting in an overall impression that feels unappealing to the viewers eyes.

Third Logo Idea

For the third concept I chose to entirely diverge from the initial two ideas and present the client with a broader spreed of potential concepts.

These are some alternatives to the third logo that I have chosen to use as the final concept.

Final Logo Choice

I consider this logo to be the most effective in terms of its tone additionally, I personally perceive this logo as embodying the ‘revia’ theme as it depicts a flourishing tree that continues to grow and expand symbolising both revival and the renewal of life. The design is straightforward featuring a tree emerging from a perfect circle which signifies renewal and revival through the endless cycle of nature. The tree’s branches form an upward spiral with fresh green leaves that transition from a deep forest green at the base witch is the ‘revia’ sign to a vibrant emerald at the tips representing growth and transformation. The overall design utilises bold clean lines set against a pristine white background creating a powerful visual impact that highlights environmental resilience and sustainable business practices.
